Tradeshow

Showcasing innovation potential

The School of Computing and Information Technologies annual trade show showcases the software development endeavours undertaken by final-year students majoring in Computer Science and Information Technology. This event aims to provide students with hands-on experience in the complete development of systems. The projects connect groups of students with supervisors and clients who are facing an ICT-based problem for which the students are required to find innovative and creative solutions.

What the Trade Show allows students to do is to present their projects both from a technical and also marketing perspective and how it can change lives.

I really enjoyed this overall experience. It was probably the first time in my degree where I've been able to apply the skills that I've learnt throughout my degree and I've really kind of enjoyed that experience where it's a whole year where you're able to actually build something and to bring it to life.

Well, I think entertainment is always something that I really enjoy and through discussing our unique ideas, we've been able to create the kind of project that we have. I think the subject is probably the most important subject that's offered at the University of Wollongong kind of creating a real world project that doesn't fit the same structure as the regular subjects that are offered at the university. Working with a real world client as well has been amazing for us. We've gained a lot of insight into real world projects and how they operate, and it's been amazing for us.
